Providence College of Engineering has launched its PROMET mock exam module live to help engineering candidates practise for the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical entrance exam (KEAM).
Each test lasts for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Both tests are freely available to anyone wishing to test their preparedness and can be accessed at providence.edu.in/promet.

Being held online on 16th May 2024, the physics and chemistry test will be live from 10.30am and the mathematics test will be live from 2pm.

Continuing in the tradition set in 2021, Providence College of Engineering celebrated the season by holding its annual Christmas RASAM by Providence at the Providence campus on 21st and 22nd December 2022.
The event included a cake baking competition as well as a competition for choirs in the region.
Visitors were also treated to a Christmas Village featuring live enactments of events from the period surrounding the birth of the Christ.
On 12th December 2022, Dr. Libin P Oommen, head of the department of mechanical engineering conducted a session on "Biomimetics for Research and Entrepreneurship" for the final year trainee engineers
The session explored the fascinating field of using nature-inspired designs and solutions to solve human problems including the definition of biomimetics, its applications, and the principles behind it, and the benefits of biomimetics and how it can contribute to solving real-world problems.
Providence College of Engineering conducted the PROTEK exhibition as part of an initiative to create awareness among school going students about engineering and technology.
Conducted on 2nd December 2022, the event was inaugurated by Mr. Mathew T Thomas (MLA) and attended by students from 20 schools in the region.
On 2nd December 2022, Providence College of Engineering hosted a placement drive for Jobin & Jismi Pvt Ltd.
The drive attracted students from more than 15 colleges.
The Providence College department of electrical & electronics engineering organized a two-day hands-on workshop on solar power systems for electrical engineering students, on 30th November and 1st December 2022.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Biju Jacob, Assistant Executive Engineer, KSEB followed by solar training headed by Mr. Bijoy Kesavan and his team from Bingas Electrical Electronics and Solar System.

Providence College of Engineering's department of science and humanities organized and hosted a three-day national conference on nanomaterials - NANOPHILIA - from 25th August 2022.
The conference was inaugurated virtually by Prof. Sabu Thomas, Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University. During the inaugural session the conference proceedings was released by Providence chairperson Mrs. Mariamma George Mathew and handed over to Dr. Soney C George, Dean (Research) of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. On the first day of the conference one keynote speech and three invited talks were delivered by experts in nanoscience. About 60 participants, comprising mostly of research scholars attended the conference on the first day. 23 % of the participants were from out of the state especially from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat and Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu. An emerging bioplastic industry Varsya Ecoproducts took the opportunity to exhibit their products at the conference.
The second day resumed with three invited talks followed by parallel oral and poster competitions. Fifty participants including post graduate students from various educational institutions attended the event on the same day. The visitors were treated to a one-hour cultural program by Providence's trainee engineers.
The third day of NANOPHILIA witnessed invited talks by three experts in the field, as well a continuation of oral presentations from the previous day.
The interactions of scientists and academics with the participants were highly effective throughout the event.
During the valedictory function, best oral and poster awards were given to the selected delegates. The valedictory function was presided over by chief guest Dr. Jacob Chandy, Principal, Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, Kerala.
A post-conference boat ride was arranged for participants from outside Kerala who got a chance to experience the beauty of "God's own country".
Providence College of Engineering has announced that it aims to launch two new undergraduate courses in its department of computer science & engineering.
In addition to the existing BTech in Computer Science & Engineering, the college will add courses in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security (with IoT & Blockchain Technology).
The move comes in light of the growing demand for computer science professionals in the digital economy, especially those skilled in the areas of artificial intelligence and cyber security.
AI is playing a bigger role than ever in the way data is consumed, information is produced and analyzed.
Data security has grown to paramount importance globally as the reliance on digital devices has grown.
